
Brad Welsh Appointed to NIB Board
Muruwari man Brad Welsh has been appointed to the board of NIB Holdings. He joins Jill Watts as independent non-executive directors, with NIB chairman David Gordon officially welcoming the duo to the board from July 27.
Mr Welsh, who has spent more than a decade leading and advising global resource companies including Energy Resources of Australia and Rio Tinto, brings both public sector and commercial skills to to the NIB board.

History-Making CEO Appointment
History was made last week when Brad Welsh was named as the first Indigenous Australian to lead an ASX-listed minerals company.
Welsh was named as the CEO and managing director of Energy Resources Australia in the Northern Territory.

Brad Welsh Named Exceptional Indigenous Person by Queensland Resources Sector
Brad Welsh, Rio Tinto’s first Indigenous General Manager of operations, has been named Exceptional Indigenous Person by Queensland’s resources sector.
The award was presented by the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) at its seventh annual 2020 awards in a virtual presentation featuring keynote speaker Fiona Jose, Chief Executive Officer at Cape York Partnerships.Entertainment was provided by much-loved musician Troy Cassar-Daley and the event featured an address by Dr Jackie Huggins, a Bidjara/Birri Gubba Juru woman and staunch Indigenous peoples’ advocate.
